EOD Hackdays

17th - 18th October 2013 Location: NTK, PC room n. 01, 3rd floor (Thursday), Education centre (Friday) We cordially invite interested coders, hackers and creative minds to join us for the third EOD HackDays from Thursday to Friday. We will be having fun with (in the widest sense) digital library related technologies. Bring your own project, start something new or just fool around with publicly available or specially offered APIs and datasets together with other coders from all over Europe.

Examples of things to play with:

• images and fulltext of digitised books (provided by us)
• APIs like Europeanas or the opensearch API of the EOD search engine (provided by us)
• open source / experimental / new / beta digital repositories
• linked data (GND, VIAF, ...)
• mash up, remix and reuse

We will hold an informal get-together already on Wednesday 16th in the late afternoon. More information will be sent upon registration. Please register.

Transport 

Participants are asked to make their own travel arrangements. From the airport, the National Library of Technology is comfortably reached by bus or taxi.

By bus

The buses of the line 119 leave the Airport approximately every 10-20 minutes between 04:00 and 23:30 from bus stations at both Terminal 1 - exit F and Terminal 2 - exit E and takes you next to the entry to the metro (underground line A terminus Dejvická). The ride takes about 25 minutes. You have to buy the ticket before boarding the bus at ticket vending machines in the terminal hall or at the newsstand at 32 CZK (consider buying the all-day ticket or 3-days ticket). You can also use the Airport Express - AE line that terminates at the same place, departs from the airport each 30 minutes and rides non-stop from the airport to the metro; tickets at 40 CZK (from/to the stop Dejvická) at the driver.
Night buses n. 510 + X51 (change needed) take the same route.

By taxi

We recommend you to take a yellow taxi (AAA or 111) that can be found immediately outside of both terminals. It takes about 10 minutes to arrive to Dejvice at about 400 CZK.
